Rally School with Brite Spokes

Our experience with Brite Spokes was provided courtesy for the point of a review. I couldn’t find a bad thing to say about the experience if I tried but all words are indeed my own and I was not compensated for any posts I will publish about the experience.

When Danté and I started dating, we bonded pretty immediately over a few things. One of which was cars. Whether taking pictures of them, watching movies about them, driving them or dreaming about owning them (classic American muscle of course) — we love cars. So when I found out that together we could learn to drive manual cars like Rally drivers in the hills of New Hampshire at a rally school, I knew that HAD to be our next trip together. One thing we both love, is driving fast.

One problem, neither of us actually knew how to drive a manual!! No problem, right?! That’s where Rally School comes in! Even though we’d always wanted to, we didn’t actually have any experience. It turned out that and many more things seemed like a piece of cake with the incredible instructors that Brite Spokes hired to teach us.

One of the best parts of the whole weekend was getting to meet Pro Rally driver Verena Mei of R1. She is kick-ass cool but also one of the most kind and down to earth people Danté or I have ever met. We got to ride with her in the car she actually races, at the speeds she races at, and we both geeked out like kids in a candy store. It was INCREDIBLE.

Now I just have to figure out how I balance being a travel blogger with learning to be a rally car driver!!!

I kid. I think….

You look so happy! I’m glad to see you breathe the fresh air and become a stick shift speed demon. We’ve had a stick shift for two years now and I haven’t driven it even once.

It’s SO fun. I highly recommend the experience. As a woman, learning to drive a stick shift and finding out that I’m actually quite good at it was very empowering. It definitely made me very happy indeed.
