Welcome to my new Journal! It’s been a while since I published anything new in this, or any, format so I just want to reiterate than whenever I am publishing information about trips or products which have been sponsored and/or are part of a paid relationship I have with a brand, you will know it; because I will preface the post with a paragraph like this. In this case, I was paid to create content Air Canada and Toronto Tourism could use in order to help market a new initiative. As always, all opinions and words here, are my own. That is not ever negotiable.
If you’ve followed me for a while you remember when both my sites were only about me and my solo travels. These days, many of my travel experiences and even my jobs involve my partner Danté who has become my creative partner as well as my life partner.
Danté is pursuing video as his expertise though he is an accomplished photographer as well. So when Air Canada recently premiered their TorontoStopover program and asked me to be a part of helping market it, I knew that my still photos of the experience absolutely needed to be accompanied by a video that Danté would create. Some experiences just make more sense when shared in moving picture form. Some stories can’t be told well by still images alone!
We traveled via LaGuardia airport in NYC and landed at Toronto Pearson with just over 48 hours on the ground for a TorontoStopover to document the best things to do in the city during summer. During our time on the ground, we called the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Wellington Street our home, and would gladly do so again. We especially loved the Club Lounge access and the view from our room, which featured the CN Tower so close it seemed as if we could touch it.

Though I had been to Toronto many times before it had been some time since my last visit and I was pleasantly surprised to see how the city has changed in all good ways. There are so many incredible restaurants to choose from that weren’t open before. The Kensington Market area has always been great but now features so many more shops than it did the last time I visited and yet my old favorite, Courage My Love, is still going strong! It’s not to be missed.
This was also the first time I ever took a ferry out to the Toronto Islands and I would definitely recommend everyone do that, it gives you such a different experience than you’d have only staying downtown or even in the suburbs of the city. And though Toronto wasn’t tooo hot while we were there it was nice to have that cool breeze off the water as we rode the boat across to Centre Island. Definitely worth the $15 for that and the view of the city at sunset which is how I took the photo that’s currently featured on the home page, leading to this post.

If you have any questions, please leave them in a comment below! I’d love to answer any that I can, or find the answers for you if I don’t already know.
And please tell me since I am returning to blogging after so long gone, in posts like this in the future, would you also like to see a mini guide and/or a list of all the places we visited (i.e. shops, restaurants, museums)?
Thank you for coming along on our TorontoStopover with us and thank you for visiting the brand new KirstenAlana.com!
