I had the privilege of experiencing the country of Mauritius for the second time in November when I visited Constance Hotels Belle Mare Plage and Le Prince Maurice with colleagues Peter, Kim-Marie (and her adorable son Keaton), Ishay and her husband.
We each had a different goal, determined by the resort, and while we did get to spend some time together we also spent time on our own gathering the material we needed to put together stories that would each showcase a different aspect of what makes Le Prince Maurice, and the island of Mauritius, such ultimate places.
I had a bowl of noodles in the Asian Bar at Le Prince Maurice that I am still dreaming about today (oh. so. good) and I know that Ishay, as goddess of all things culinary at Food and the Fabulous, found much to talk about in her goal of examining the food culture in Mauritius.
I was able to spend the most time with Kim-Marie and Keaton, who is truly adorable in this video that Kim made about the children’s amenities at Le Prince Maurice, which was a treat for me because I enjoyed every moment and it’s not too often that I find myself swooning over any kids. Keaton was too adorable for my cold heart to not be melted by! 😉 I took this image of the two of them just before we had lunch one day, poolside at Le Prince Maurice.
Peter has a gift for video and I really love some of the moments he was able to capture with his video. I was right next to him for a few shots, and I think I have a cameo in the video, and still I was in awe when I saw the edited footage. It just gets right to the heart of what makes Le Prince Maurice so special. I don’t think words can describe “ultimate” but his video does, in my opinion.
Finally, after I shot thousands of photos myself, some elsewhere on the island of the animals and the people, I compiled 100 of them into a slideshow that summarizes the spectacular design and amenities of the resort. From day to night, I couldn’t help but love the surroundings of Le Prince Maurice. In what is a relatively small space, in terms of building and amount of land, a luxurious home-away-from-home is just waiting for me to return. This time, with my loved one.

I loved following along your trip via your Instagram feed. And Peter’s video is amazing — I caught myself smiling the whole time!
Aw, thanks so much Marie-Eve! And also thanks to you Kirsten, I didn’t realise you’d said such nice things til my second (proper) read of the post. *chuffed* 🙂
Glad you saw it at least, Peter! No worries on timing 😉
Thank you, Marie-Eve!! Glad you like Peter’s video as well.
Finally got a chance to sit down and check out this post. What a beautiful place to spend some time! I just love your photo slideshow, gorgeous shots as always. I just love all the water elements to the property. You’ve definitely put Mauritius on my radar of places I must get to.
I’m so glad you were able to watch the whole slideshow, I think it’s a little long but there was so much to photograph at Le Prince Maurice. And I am glad Mauritius is on your “must get to” list because it really is an extraordinary little country and a beautiful island.
