I’m biased, after having gone myself, but I think everyone should visit The Flower Fields in Carlsbad at least once. This is particularly true if you live in Southern California since you will not have to travel far to visit.

I visited in Spring 2023 as a guest of The Cassara Carlsbad, which is a member of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. That’s when I took the photographs illustrating this post. Since my visit, I’ve stayed on top of news from the area. I want to go to The Flower Fields again one day. The rest of this post may have information garnered from press releases I receive from public relations professionals who represent The Fields. Any opinions on this blog, or in this post, are my own unless specified. Map is courtesy The Flower Fields.
Ideally Located to other SoCal Attractions
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad are only half a mile from the ocean and have been called one of the best possible outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy together in Carlsbad. That’s why The Fields have also been labeled by some, “Southern California’s premier Spring Break destination.”
If you have young ones, they might enjoy Legoland. It is so close, if you stay at The Cassara you will be in the middle of both attractions. You’ll be able to look out at the fields from your room but be within walking distance of Legoland.
Outlet shops, multiple golf courses, Oceanside Harbor, and McClellan-Palomar Airport are also conveniently located to The Fields.
There is Fun for All Ages when you visit The Flower Fields
You will quickly find this attraction is more than fields of planted flowers. Educational programs offer enrichment and learning experiences for your kids. Shaded areas with different food vendors make it easy for anyone in the family to get something they want to eat. Various ornamental and educational gardens and a bird aviary invite adults to stroll in a more manicured setting. You can learn to mine while looking for polished gemstones. There’s a garden center to shop for plants you can take home and even a sweet pea maze.
And if anyone has trouble walking longer distances in the heat, tractor-wagon rides are available for an additional price.
Look at this map of The Fields for an idea. It showcases the attractions that are adjacent to the fields which would be “on top” of this graphic:

Book a Stay for your visit to The Flower Fields
If you do stay at Cassara, use their free bike rental and leave your car in the garage during your stay! Also, dine at Karl Strauss Brewing Company during your stay. It’s so close you can walk to it across the hotel’s small parking lot above the garage. It’s got a great local feeling scene at night, terrific food, and an excellent selection of California beer.
In addition to The Cassara Carlsbad: you can find a Hilton Grand Vacations property, Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Carlsbad Seapointe Resort, and more near The Fields. Search for a place to book without leaving this post!
Wherever you decide to stay in Carlsbad, buy the tickets for The Flower Fields in advance. It will sell out and is a popular attraction for Southern California.

Hi! That’s a great question. As a freelance writer myself, I know how hard it can be to be found as a writer-for-hire. I think @TheFCDC on x/Twitter does a great job of representing and sourcing – for those like you – a diverse group of skilled writers from all over the world willing to learn and ready to put in the work if given the opportunity. You can get in touch with them at that account on x/Twitter or reach out to @chimammeje there. Lastly, you could send email admin [at] freelancecoalition [dot] org
