Fri Fotos: Up in the Air

Fri Fotos: Up in the Air

I have a few favorite travel movies, most travelers do. Films like, “Out of Africa” and “Before Sunrise” were inspiring my wanderlust long before Walter Kim wrote the book that would become the Clooney-driven film, “Up in the Air”.

But it was Clooney’s Ryan Bingham character that was the first in a travel movie I identified with so much it shook me up a bit. Eerily, I have also experienced the same relationship drama Bingham’s character endures. What I love most about the movie “Up in the Air” though, is the feeling of bliss it so perfectly captures that I have every. single. time. I. fly. in. a. plane.

I truly get a high from looking down, and looking out. So every time I fly, I add a few more images to my “Up In The Air” collection.

Beautiful! Look at all that snow on Mt Rainier.

Crazy huh? That was at the end of June and there was still so much snow. It’s SUCH a cool peak to see from the air and on that flight the pilot circled around it so we could all see it clearly. Thanks for the comment Caanan!!

You know, people tell me all the time that they hated that movie or found it disturbing, but it has been dear to my heart from the very first time I watched it. The song “Help Yourself” on the soundtrack is awesome too. It is a movie of beautiful landscapes and dialogue, and of unsettling truths. Your own images from Up in the Air are striking as always. Happy Friday!

I feel EXACTLY the same way about the movie Roxanne. Unsettling truths is very accurate. The imagery is what draws me back over and over. Also, Clooney’s portrayal of the character was so wonderful. Thank you for the comment. Thank you for always leaving such kind, detailed comments!!
