Queer-Owned Brands To Support Year-Round

My number one rule has become, “Try to buy only what you need.” That being said, never shopping again for anything, isn’t an option. So when I do need to shop, I try to support Queer-owned, Black-owned, Latine-owned, Asian-owned businesses and more.

Because merely enriching mega corporations or billionaires with my purchasing power, is not something that feels in line with my values. Now that PRIDE month is over, it feels like the right time to remind myself that I can support Queer-owned brands year-round. So here I am, publishing this as a reminder to myself and a public commitment

A Few Queer-Owned Brands To Support

Well People skincare and makeup: I like that this brand is Leaping Bunny, PETA, and EWG Verified, and that they don’t use synthetic fillers, sulfates, preservatives, or fragrances.

August period care: August is carbon neutral and their tampons are made with organic cotton.

Undefined skincare: Their products are packaged in recycled plastic. And Undefined steers clear of parabens, sulfates, palm oil, and phthalates.

Meow Meow Tweet personal care products: Meow Meow Tweet stays away from plastic altogether, packaging their products in glass, metal, or home-compostable paper.

Soapwalla skincare: MADE SAFE certified Soapwalla. This means their products are manufactured with independently verified ingredients that are not known or suspected to harm human health or ecosystems.

Noto Botanics skincare: Their main suppliers are Fair Trade Certified. And Noto packages their products thoughtfully, with recyclable or recycled materials.

Surely there are more?

I hope so too! Particularly in this day and age. How and where we spend our money carries so much weight. I’d love to spend my money only with brands that can make a significant, positive, difference in society with their profits.

So as I continue to learn about more brands, I will continue to update this post 🥰
